Our more than 2.4 million acres of timberland in the Western United States are sustainably managed by professionals in our Forestry Division. Currently, our Lassen Forestry District has an opening for a qualified Reforestation Specialist
. The successful applicant is expected to work out of our Lassen District office located in Anderson, California
.
- Implement district reforestation program to effectively establish and manage conifer plantations
- Prepare and administer contracts for reforestation activities including tree planting, vegetation management, site preparation and thinning
- Inspect and monitor reforestation projects to evaluate field performance and recommend appropriate corrective actions as necessary
- Maintain documentation, and district database of reforestation activities
- Assist in other forestry work on the district requiring demanding physical activity
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Natural Resources or equivalent related work experience
- California Pest Control Advisors (PCA) license with weed and vertebrate categories or the ability to pass the PCA exam within one year is preferred
- Knowledge of reforestation activities and local forest types is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, self‑motivation and strong work ethic
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and GIS‑based software programs
- Ability to navigate in mountainous areas using map and compass or GPS
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Current valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a four‑wheel drive vehicle and safely negotiate steep mountainous roads

The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $69,000 to $100,000 per year, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
