Lead Bicycle Technician

LEAD BIKE TECHNICIAN

Shasta Living Streets is looking for an energetic, self-motivated maintenance technician to join the team. We promote self‑confidence, decision making, and skill development for our staff. You will have the opportunity and responsibility to be part of building the Shasta Bike Depot and Redding Bikeshare vision and executing it day‑to‑day.

• Willingness to learn new skills and innovative new data tracking systems
• Bikeshare bike mechanical maintenance, and bike fleet management and balancing
• Bikeshare dock mechanical and technical review and adjustments
• Bike maintenance: two‑week inspections, basic repairs, monthly full‑review
• Using multiple online databases to track: bike usage, maintenance schedules, parts inventory
• Electric battery swapping bikes and docks
• Retrieving and delivering bikes by pedal‑assist trike bike
• Customer interaction with people who love the bikeshare system, answering questions and offering help to new users; sometimes assisting people who are unfamiliar with phone apps.
• Maintaining docking stations – data updates, troubleshooting, replacing parts and batteries
• Installation and removal of docks, including online data connectivity
