In the performance of his/her duties, the assistant women’s softball coach will be directly responsible to the head women’s coach and will cooperate and work with the head coach in administering the total intercollegiate athletics program.

• Background experience: possess a working knowledge of all aspects of the respective sport
• Personal experience demonstrating the following:

• Support the overflow needs of other departments within the respective university area

• Communicate effectively the rules of the sport to the players
• Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques in the sport
• Assist the head coach in accumulating accurate records, player information and game statistics
• Help manage responsibility of equipment and uniform
• Exhibit regular attendance at all team meetings, practices, and games
• Help emphasize proper safety procedures in training for the sport and keep abreast of injury procedures
• Help administer the athletic study halls
• Accept other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics

Working Conditions:

Indoors in controlled environment; outdoor hot, cold, rainy environment while performing duties at outdoor events, indoors in gym or office.

Equipment Used:
Computer, scanner, copier, mouse, keyboard, stapler, 3‑hole punch, letter opener; equipment bags, field equipment, playing equipment, office equipment if in office environment, vehicle if driving.

Essential Physical Tasks:
Sitting for long periods of time using a computer; being outdoors during events; bending, standing for long periods of time; lifting bags/equipment; demonstrating drills; throwing.

Physical Demands:

• Salary: $16.50 hourly
• 25 hours per week during the months September‑May. Up to 5 hours per week in June, July, and August.
