Overview
We are looking for a Trainee / Assistant Commercial Manager to support the Commercial Manager across live construction projects. This role suits someone with experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Estimator who wants to develop into a full commercial management role.
Responsibilities- Assist with cost control, budgets, forecasts, and CVRs
- Support monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Assist with subcontract procurement, comparisons, and appointments
- Help assess subcontractor applications and payments
- Support pricing of variations and change control
- Work closely with site teams and attend meetings as required
- Maintain accurate commercial records and reports
- Background as an Assistant QS or Estimator
- Good understanding of construction commercial processes
- Strong numerical and Excel skills
- Organised, proactive, and keen to learn
- Confident communicating with site teams and subcontractors
- Clear progression into a Commercial Manager role
- Hands-on experience on live projects
- Training and development support
