Role OverviewWe are a highly regarded, friendly team supporting learners with a sensory impairment in mainstream settings across the county. This role involves working one-to-one with children or young people with a vision impairment in their educational setting in Worcestershire. You will collaborate with Qualified Teachers of Children with a Vision Impairment / Multisensory Impairment, a Habilitation Specialist, Specialist Practitioners, and school-based staff.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist support to pupils with vision impairment.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to deliver tailored interventions.
- Advocate for the needs of the pupil and support their inclusive education.
- Assist in implementing access strategies and Braille learning where relevant.
- Committed, experienced, highly motivated Specialist Teaching Assistant.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to support and advocate for pupils with vision impairment.
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Willingness to learn Braille and access strategies.
- Capability to travel across the county.
All necessary training will be provided, along with CPD and support within the team.
