To become a Multi Skills Lecturer in our Construction department, we need someone who is qualified, patient and has a passion for teaching. The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities across a wide range of activities. What you’ll be doing
  • Design and deliver a broad construction curriculum (carpentry, plumbing, brickwork, plastering).
  • Provide engaging lessons that develop both practical skills and theoretical knowledge, tailored to different learning styles.
  • Assess student progress regularly, giving timely, constructive feedback and supporting learners to meet goals.
  • Maintain a safe, organised learning environment and ensure all health and safety standards are followed.
  • Supervise practical sessions, offering guidance and hands‑on support to students.
  • Plan and manage teaching effectively through lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
  • Maintain accurate records (progress tracking, ILPs) and complete necessary administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, departments and support staff to enhance learning and student experience.
  • Deliver high quality teaching and learning by:
    • Providing students with a planned learning and assessment experience.
    • Effectively managing and monitoring the learning process.
    • Providing regular assessment opportunities.
    • Providing timely and constructive feedback.
    • Guiding and supporting learners to achieve their learning goals.
  • Actively develop new technology in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, individual learning plans and assessment schedules.
  • Ensure safe working practices across the programme area.
