To become a Multi Skills Lecturer in our Construction department, we need someone who is qualified, patient and has a passion for teaching. The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities across a wide range of activities. What you’ll be doing- Design and deliver a broad construction curriculum (carpentry, plumbing, brickwork, plastering).
- Provide engaging lessons that develop both practical skills and theoretical knowledge, tailored to different learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly, giving timely, constructive feedback and supporting learners to meet goals.
- Maintain a safe, organised learning environment and ensure all health and safety standards are followed.
- Supervise practical sessions, offering guidance and hands‑on support to students.
- Plan and manage teaching effectively through lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
- Maintain accurate records (progress tracking, ILPs) and complete necessary administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with colleagues, departments and support staff to enhance learning and student experience.
- Deliver high quality teaching and learning by:
- Providing students with a planned learning and assessment experience.
- Effectively managing and monitoring the learning process.
- Providing regular assessment opportunities.
- Providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Guiding and supporting learners to achieve their learning goals.
- Actively develop new technology in teaching, learning and assessment.
- Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, individual learning plans and assessment schedules.
- Ensure safe working practices across the programme area.
