Are you an experienced SENDCO looking for your next opportunity in a supportive and inclusive school?

Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Redditch to recruit a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO). This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that places inclusion, pupil wellbeing and achievement at the heart of everything it does.

The successful candidate will lead and develop the school's SEND provision, working collaboratively with staff, parents, governors and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to thrive.

The Role
  • Lead and manage the school's SEND provision
  • Identify, assess and monitor pupils with additional needs
  • Develop and implement effective SEND strategies and interventions
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure high-quality inclusive practice
  • Liaise with parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals
  • Ensure the school meets all statutory SEND responsibilities
  • Support and develop colleagues through advice, guidance and training
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working as a SENDCO or within a SEND leadership role.
  • The National Award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete it where appropriate).
  • Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
