Learning Support Assistant

is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work in an SEN School in Redditch on a full-time basis.

Hours #removed#pm Monday
- Friday.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning difficulties.
• Support pupils with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), ADHD, Attachment Disorder, and other learning needs.
• Help pupils access the curriculum by adapting learning activities and resources to suit individual needs.
• Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans.
• Assist the teacher in preparing learning materials, resources and classroom activities.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions, break times and off-site activities where required.
• Help monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt strategies to meet pupil needs.

• The school supports students with a broad range of needs, including:
  Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attachment difficulties, Learning difficulties and other SEMH related challenges
• All students at the school have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and they work closely with families, carers and external professionals to ensure that support is well coordinated, responsive and effective.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs.
• Understanding of conditions such as Autism, ADHD, PDA, Attachment Disorder and learning difficulties.
• Ability to remain calm, patient and supportive in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
