SEN opportunities in secondary schools – Redditch

Smile Education is looking to register enthusiastic and motivated people in the Redditch area who are interested in developing their careers working with young people with special educational needs in secondary schools. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with backgrounds in sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, care, support work, behaviour support and other roles where you have developed strong communication, resilience and relationship-building skills.

You may not have worked in a school before. If you have the right attitude, experience and passion for supporting young people, we would love to hear from you.

SEN teaching assistants
1:1 teaching assistants
SEN sports coaches
Behaviour mentors
Learning support assistants
Pastoral support workers
Care and support assistants
Youth workers
Activity and engagement support workers
Classroom support assistants

You could be supporting young people with a range of additional needs, including:

Autism/ASC
ADHD
SEMH
Behavioural needs
Emotional regulation difficulties
Communication and interaction needs
Complex learning needs
Additional educational needs

Your previous experience could include:

Sports or football coaching
Youth work
Care or support work
Residential care
Behaviour support
Mentoring
Community work
Personal training or fitness
Working with vulnerable young people
Children and young people's services
Other roles involving supporting, encouraging and developing young people
