We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Pastoral Support Staff to join a secondary school in Redditch on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible
. This role would suit individuals with experience as a Learning Mentor, Behaviour Specialist, Pastoral Support Worker, or Student Support Officer who are committed to helping young people succeed both academically and personally.
You will play a key role in supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and engagement, working closely with the Head of Year team and wider pastoral staff.
Location: Redditch
Availability: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £120-170 Per Day
- Provide pastoral support to students across the school.
- Work alongside the Head of Year team to support student wellbeing, attendance, and behaviour.
- Support students within the school’s Behaviour Hub, helping them re-engage with learning.
- Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions focused on behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.
- Implement behaviour strategies and promote positive attitudes to learning.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and staff.
- Support students who may be experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to pastoral meetings where required.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
- Previous experience working as a Learning Mentor, Behaviour Specialist, Pastoral Support Worker, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, or similar role.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, ADHD, or Autism is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire young people.
- A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting challenging behaviour.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
