Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Are you a Senior Process Engineer looking for full operational autonomy without the management overhead?

We are an established plastics manufacturing business based in Redditch, seeking a high-calibre Process Engineering Manager to take complete ownership of our site’s continuous improvement and environmental initiatives.

In this standalone role (no direct reports), you will act as the technical authority for the plant. You will have full freedom to identify opportunities, analyse manufacturing data, and directly execute high-impact projects. You must be an action-oriented professional who thrives on hands-on delivery while possessing the credibility to present data-driven strategies directly to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operational Efficiencies:
Identify plant bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste to optimise overall manufacturing output.

* Process Improvements:
Evaluate technical processes, designing and executing step-change solutions to boost yield and repeatability.

* Quality Excellence:
Lead root-cause analysis and implement process controls to ensure product quality consistently meets exact specifications.

* Environmental Lead:
Take ownership of site sustainability initiatives, energy reduction, and waste-minimisation projects.

* Data & Senior Stakeholder Management:
Leverage site data to build solid business cases and present progress directly to senior leadership.

Requirements:

* Proven track record as a Senior Process Engineer or CI Specialist within a manufacturing environment.

* Deep technical expertise in driving process improvements, root-cause problem solving, and boosting operational efficiencies.

* Strong analytical mindset—comfortable manipulating data and presenting strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders.

* High self-motivation and the ability to operate autonomously from project identification through to execution.

Highly Desirable:

* Background within plastics manufacturing (e.g., rotational, blow or injection moulding) is strongly preferred.
