Assistant Psychologist - CAMHS Community Eating Disorders

The closing date is 11 March 2026

An exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS Herefordshire/Worcestershire Community Eating Disorder NEW Intensive Support at Home team as a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist. In this role you will be part of an integrated team passionate about helping young people with eating difficulties. We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist with a specialist interest in eating disorders to support the team in providing time‑limited intensive person‑centred intervention within the young person’s home environment.

You will be expected to work across both counties, supporting young people to receive timely and effective care in the least restrictive environment, avoiding unnecessary admission to hospital or Tier 4 units, supporting timely discharge from acute paediatric wards and supporting key workers to offer intensive support as an alternative to continued inpatient treatment. Additional training will be provided relating to eating disorders where required.

These are full‑time posts but part‑time hours would be considered.

Please note the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship for this role.

Main duties of the job

Be an integral member of the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service (CEDS) under the direction of the Leadership team, Mental Health Practitioners and Clinical Supervisors.

  • Provide support and care for young people in their own home or clinics.
  • Complete home‑based therapeutic interventions, including meal support, based on the care plan formulated by Mental Health Practitioners.
  • Complete outcome measures and gather evidence regarding the effectiveness of these interventions.
  • Complete clinical entries using the Trust clinical records system.
  • Receive support, guidance from the wider team and clinical supervision on a regular basis.
  • Deliver high standard clinical care under the supervision and direction of senior staff for young people in the community.
  • Ensure that care provided maintains the individual’s privacy and dignity, values diversity and respects cultural and individual rights and choices.
  • Support with Physical Health clinics as required.
  • Attend weekly MDT and formulation sessions.
