We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Pelvic Health Team at Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust.
This is a 12‑month fixed‑term, part‑time (22.5 hours per week) position, mainly based at Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. The post holder may be expected to work across all three trust sites.
Our Pelvic Health Team covers pregnancy‑related pelvic girdle pain, continence, pelvic pain conditions, and obstetric ward cover.
The post holder will work closely with the Pelvic Health Therapy team, the wider multidisciplinary team, and musculoskeletal teams across all three sites.
The role involves managing a large and complex outpatient list, demonstrating sound clinical reasoning skills, and committing to evidence‑based care. Continuous professional development will be encouraged through audits, supervision, and training sessions.
Main duties of the job- Provide high‑quality patient‑focused care through assessment, diagnosis, development, and delivery of individual treatment programmes.
- Take responsibility for own caseload within a defined area or patient type.
- Supervise, support, and educate qualified and unqualified staff and students.
- Participate in departmental audit to support evidence‑based practice.
- Communicate with the MDT to provide comprehensive assessment and determine admission or discharge planning.
- Undertake outpatient activity and contribute to a 7‑day service on a rota basis.
- Provide on‑call coverage over a 24‑hour period, including weekend work as required.

- Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of practice, including the management of patients receiving treatment.
- Undertake clinical assessment, including risk analysis, of patients presenting with simple and complex/multi‑pathology within the defined area of speciality.
- Apply knowledge and advanced skills from a wide range of specialties (e.g. respiratory, neurology, musculoskeletal outpatients, care of the elderly) underpinned by evidence.
- Use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to establish accurate diagnoses.
- Formulate evidence‑based individual treatment programmes and use a range of physio therapeutic interventions (normal movement, motor relearning, manual therapy, respiratory techniques, NIV, exercise therapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy).
- Regularly evaluate and adjust treatment plans, formulate prognoses, and recommend appropriate discharge plans.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, contemporaneous treatment records, including valid consent.
- Ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in the evening and weekend on‑call service, which may include advanced respiratory techniques and non‑invasive ventilation.
