SummaryAs a Specialist Pharmacist in Acute Medicine at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialized clinical pharmacy and medicines management services.
Responsibilities include:
Undertaking an independent prescribing course or functioning as an independent prescriber within the clinical area, complying with GPhC requirements.
Providing expert knowledge of medicines to advise consultants, medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff on all aspects of medicines use.
Delivering pharmaceutical care to patients, recommending, substantiating, and communicating best therapeutic options.
Implementing changes in prescribing practice to ensure evidence-based medicine is followed.
Managing risks for the pharmacy service, ensuring compliance with medicines legislation, Trust Medicines Policy, and relevant guidelines.
Conducting clinical audits of medicine use and pharmacy services within the Acute Medicine service.
Providing pharmaceutical teaching to pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff.
Contributing to keeping drug expenditure within agreed limits as directed by the Director and Deputy Director of Pharmacy.
