About the role

The LMS Manager (12 month FTC) will lead the digital learning strategy across the Halfords Group, driving impactful, innovative learning solutions aligned to business objectives. This role owns the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate training records, robust reporting, system stability, and continuous improvement, while delivering high-quality digital learning content and optimised learning pathways. As a champion of change, you will use data and insights to demonstrate learning impact, lead and develop a high-performing team, collaborate across the organisation to achieve both short-term impact and long-term strategic goals.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and implement a strategy that leverages technology to enhance learning and development across the Group.
  • Ensure accurate, consolidated learning data and compliance reporting through effective LMS management.
  • Drive initiatives that transform the learning experience and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Introduce new technologies and methodologies to keep Halfords at the forefront of digital learning.
  • Partner with stakeholders to align learning solutions with organisational priorities and performance goals.
  • Own the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the LMS platform. Ensure system stability, data integrity, and compliance with internal and external standards and manage user access, permissions, and troubleshooting queries.
  • Execute the digital learning strategy by curating, uploading, and maintaining high-quality learning content.
  • Monitor and optimise learning pathways, ensuring alignment with business priorities and skills frameworks.
  • Collaborate with content creators and vendors to integrate new digital learning solutions.
  • Track and report on LMS usage, learner engagement, and completion rates.
  • Partner with HR, L&D, and operational teams to ensure the LMS supports organisational goals
  • Stay informed on LMS trends and emerging technologies to enhance the learner experience

About you

  • Proven experience managing a Cornerstone LMS platform
  • Strong understanding of digital learning principles and SCORM/xAPI standards
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in reporting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on time.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes including Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a high standard
  • Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey training material clearly and effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a wider team.
