Night CNC Setter / Operator

Milling or Turning | 4 Night Week | £35,000–£45,000 DOE

Due to continued business growth and increasing customer demand, we are looking to strengthen our night shift team with the addition of an experienced CNC Setter / Operator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking precision engineering company investing heavily in both technology and people.

The role is ideal for an experienced CNC operator looking to step up into more setting responsibility, or an established setter seeking stability and long-term progression within a growing manufacturing environment.

Night CNC Setter / Operator Salary and Working Hours

* Monday – Thursday

* 8:00pm – 6:00am

* Some flexibility around start and finish times where required

* £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

Night CNC Setter / Operator

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines within either a milling or turning environment. The position involves working from engineering drawings, ensuring components meet strict quality standards, and maintaining efficient production during night operations.

Training can be provided on setting for strong operators who are ready to take the next step.

Key Responsibilities:

* Setting and operating CNC milling or turning machines

* Working to engineering drawings and tight tolerances

* Tool changes and basic offset adjustments

* First-off inspection and in-process quality checks

* Maintaining machine efficiency and minimising downtime

* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

* Ensuring safe and tidy working practices

Night CNC Setter / Operator Candidate Requirements

* Experience operating CNC milling or turning machines

* Setting experience preferred (training can be provided for strong operators)

* Experience with Fanuc and/or Haas controls advantageous

* Experience on other control systems considered

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Strong attention to detail and quality standards

* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on night shift
