Working Hours & Internship Details
Internship: 3 months. Working hours on site at Redditch:
Monday–Thursday, 7 am–3 pm;
Friday 7 am–12 pm.
- Validate Process Change Requests and collaborate with Manufacturing Managers to cascade improvements across product families, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Optimize banned tool project, including visual management and process optimization across the factory.
- Lead 5S initiatives site‑wide, standardizing workstations and enhancing data recording processes (scrap, attrition, etc.).
- Identify and implement lean improvement strategies to deliver process enhancements and cost savings, establishing best‑practice manufacturing approaches.
- Lead and manage specific improvement projects using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and techniques.
- Coach and train managers and operators on lean theory and practical application.
- Monitor improvements, continually audit for sustainability.
- Review and assess layout and process flow through value stream mapping and other tools to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Identify and execute projects to improve production productivity and machine efficiency via SMED activities, supporting Production Engineers.
- Set and enforce standards for 5S, training managers and operators in its application.
- Ensure all projects are managed from identification and justification through to delivery, with appropriate measures to achieve objectives.
- Champion implementation and improvement of standard operating procedures.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, including generation of new documents and SOPs as required.
- Conduct training, assessment, and certification of individuals as needed, covering measuring equipment and continuous improvement techniques.
- Review and update Key Performance Indicators daily, weekly and monthly, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or related fields.
- Ability to project manage with process flows, interpret engineering drawings, and manage manufacturing tolerances.
- Evidence of strong mechanical problem‑solving capability.
- Practical knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
