Permanent Vertis Health is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Psychologist to join our Children and Young Peoples (CYP) ADHD Assessment Service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a clinician-led multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments in line with NICE guidance and robust clinical governance frameworks.
Main duties of the jobAs a Clinical Psychologist, you will:
Deliver comprehensive ADHD assessments for children and young people.
Gather and analyse information from multiple sources including families, schools, questionnaires and clinical records.
Apply psychological formulation and clinical reasoning to support MDT diagnostic decision-making.
Produce high-quality assessment reports and communicate diagnostic outcomes sensitively to children, young people and their families.
Identify co-occurring neurodevelopmental, mental health and safeguarding concerns, escalating where appropriate.
Contribute to MDT meetings, supervision, audit activities and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Provide psychologically informed recommendations and signposting to support children, young people and their families.

The postholder will be responsible for delivering high-quality CYP ADHD assessments within a governed multidisciplinary diagnostic pathway.
Key responsibilities include:
Clinical Assessment and Diagnostic Contribution Conduct structured ADHD assessments with children and young people.
Obtain developmental histories and assess functional impact across settings.
Review and integrate multi-informant evidence to support diagnostic decisions.
Contribute expert psychological formulation and diagnostic reasoning within MDT discussions.
Identify safeguarding concerns and co-occurring conditions, ensuring appropriate escalation and referral.
Documentation and Communication Produce comprehensive diagnostic reports within agreed timescales.
Communicate assessment outcomes and recommendations clearly and compassionately.
Maintain accurate clinical records and correspondence.
Use neurodiversity-affirming language and evidence-based recommendations throughout practice.
Governance, Quality and Service Development Work within organisational policies relating to safeguarding, consent, confidentiality and clinical governance.
Participate in supervision, reflective practice and audit activities.
Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Liaise effectively with referring professionals and partner agencies as required.
