This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end transport planning across the UK and Europe.

You’ll be trusted to manage shipments, liaise with customers and suppliers, and deliver cost-effective transport solutions — even in time-critical situations. If you enjoy problem-solving, working under pressure, and providing excellent service, this could be a great fit.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage customer enquiries and transport bookings via phone and email

* Enter, plan, and track shipments using the transport management system

* Provide quotations for UK, EU, and airfreight movements

* Offer alternative transport solutions to meet customer deadlines

* Book and manage suppliers to ensure reliable, cost-effective transport

* Handle urgent situations such as line stoppages and time-critical deliveries

* Communicate clearly with warehouse, operations, and accounts teams

* Keep customers updated on shipment progress and resolve issues proactively

* Close jobs accurately, ensuring PODs and documentation are uploaded

* Ensure jobs are completed correctly prior to invoicing

* Maintain accurate records, system data, and paperwork

* Monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience in transport, logistics, or freight forwarding

* Essential experience in European transport planning

* Strong communication and customer service skills

* Ability to prioritise, multitask, and remain calm under pressure

* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

* Confident using IT systems, including MS Office

* A proactive, “can-do” approach and team-focused mindset

* Second language skills are an advantage

Qualifications

* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths

* CPC qualification desirable but not essential

What’s on Offer

* A varied and responsible role within a growing logistics operation

* Opportunity to work with UK and European transport networks

* Supportive team environment with hands-on involvement

* Competitive salary and benefits package

* Opportunity to develop skills and progress within the business
