£34,398 to £52,490 per annum – September – Permanent.

RoleThis school is looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their secondary team supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). The successful SEN Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual learning needs of pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to create a structured and engaging learning environment that promotes both academic achievement and personal development.
The role involves adapting the curriculum, tracking pupil progress against EHCP targets, and supporting pupils with communication, emotional, and social development.
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Adapt the curriculum to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to create a structured learning environment.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional, and social development.
- Maintain strong classroom management skills and nurture pupils with additional learning needs including autism and communication difficulties.
- Qualified SEN Teacher with QTS required.
- Experience supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
- Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs such as autism and communication difficulties.
- Strong classroom management and nurturing approach.
This is a specialist secondary SEN school in Surrey supporting approximately 90-140 pupils aged 11-16 with MLD, autism, speech and language needs, and associated learning difficulties. The school provides a highly supportive and structured environment that encourages confidence, independence, and life skills alongside academic progress.
Classes are small with strong teaching assistant support, allowing staff to provide personalised learning tailored to individual EHCPs. The school also offers specialist intervention spaces, sensory support, and a broad curriculum designed to prepare pupils for further education and adulthood. The school has a collaborative multidisciplinary team and is well regarded locally, with a typical Ofsted rating of “Good”.
