SEMH Student Support Assistant – Specialist Setting in Redhill

Redhill, Surrey – Full-Time, Term Time Only – Start:
Immediate & September Starts Available – Pay: £93–£100 per day.

A welcoming specialist setting in Redhill is looking for a SEMH Student Support Assistant to join their team.

You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including SEMH, autism, speech & language needs, and social, emotional and behavioural needs within a structured and supportive environment.

The role is hands‑on, varied, and incredibly rewarding.

Role Responsibilities
  • Supporting learning activities within the classroom.
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour.
  • Encouraging engagement, confidence, and positive relationships.
  • Helping create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals.
  • Ideally experience supporting SEMH or challenging behaviour.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude.

Training and ongoing support will be provided.

Requirements
  • Provide suitable references for pre‑employment checks.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce (or Children’s & Adults’) update service, or be willing to obtain one.
