1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Reception

Pay: £14.25 per hour

PAYE Mon-Fri, Term Time Only

Hours:

Initially half-days, increasing as the child settles into school (mornings only)

The successful Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the child access learning, develop communication and engage safely within the classroom environment.

The child will initially be on a reduced timetable, so the role will begin with half-days during the transition period. Hours are expected to increase gradually as he settles into school.

• Strong experience supporting autistic children
• Experience supporting non-verbal children
• Intensive Interaction experience
• Attention Bucket intervention experience
• A calm, patient and proactive approach to 1:1 support
• The ability to maintain a safe environment through close supervision
• Experience working within a primary school or SEND setting
• This role would suit a Teaching Assistant who is confident working closely with an autistic child and is able to provide consistent, patient and highly attentive support.
