Finance Assistant

This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in finance, ideally a recent Finance or Business graduate, to support the smooth running of day‑to‑day finance processes, with particular exposure to inventory accounting and stock control activities. The Finance Assistant will work as part of the finance team, playing a key role in the accurate processing of transactions, maintaining well‑organised financial and inventory records, and supporting effective stock controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial procedures.
A keen focus on inventory accounting and stock control is essential.
Accounting Manager
Main Tasks & Responsibilities Sales Invoicing- Day to day sales invoicing process
- Under/over invoiced, returns & credit note queries
- Issue regular reports during month to ensure all orders have been captured and to highlight orders subject to amendments
- Issue regular reports during the month to monitor the invoicing process to ensure all orders have been correctly assembled and despatched
- Weekly manual entry Goods Received Note (GRN) information in ERP system where not automatically input.
- Customer return confirmation
- LML Direct export returns reconciliation
- Sales Despatch Reconciliation
- LML direct & export reconciliation
- LML Culina monthly reconciliation
- Cost of Sales Reconciliation
- Purchase Reconciliation
- Sales Despatch Reconciliation (journal entry)
- Stock Insurance Claims
- Supplier Shortage Claims
- Provide cover for holiday & other absences as appropriate
- Assist with providing information for the annual audit
- Demonstrated experience in finance although not essential
- Commercial, with evidence of the ability to deliver proactive and reactive support.
- Demonstrate proficiency using key software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet financial targets
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people at different levels
