Ultrasound Operations Manager & Professional Lead

Job summary

The post holder will provide operational leadership for Ultrasound Services within the Diagnostic Imaging Directorate, holding corporate responsibility for the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of services across the Trust.

The role is accountable for ultrasound performance and capacity, including delivery against national and local KPIs for waiting times, reporting performance and patient pathways, ensuring services are sustainable and responsive to clinical demand.

As Professional Lead for Sonography, the post holder will set and uphold professional standards, ensure consistency of clinical practice, and lead workforce development in line with service and professional requirements.

As a senior member of the Diagnostic Imaging management team, the post holder will contribute to the strategic development and transformation of services, championing service innovation, new models of care and optimal use of technology.

The role will provide senior oversight of third-party ultrasound providers, contract performance and equipment governance, with delegated operational delivery through senior ultrasound leaders. All duties will be undertaken in accordance with professional standards, Trust policies and statutory requirements.
