Principal Engineer Firmware Engineering XIII

We are seeking a Sr. Firmware Engineer to write firmware for our Coolant Distribution Unit real-time controller platform and assist with development on other Vertiv Linux-based platform(s). The candidate should possess broad and deep knowledge in various technologies such as networking, communications, kernel drivers, and security.,

• Requirements analysis:
  Requirements gathering, use case analysis, device and application prototyping, customer/customer-liaison engagement.
• Project management:
  Project planning, task estimation, software metrics collection, version control
• Full lifecycle software application development:
  Design, programming, debugging, peer review, unit testing, performance tuning, integration
• Documentation:
  Program commentary, user guides for service and troubleshooting
• Product testing:
  Unit testing, bench testing, system integration testing, and field test support
• Leadership:
  Effective team member and/or lead engineer, consistent positive attitude, creativity
• Hardware development support:
  Software support for hardware development and testing
• Other tasks and activities as required by management.
  Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on software:
  Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in a firmware development role
• 3+ years of experience using the C/C++ programming language.
• Expertise with software programming languages, frameworks, and subsystems including but not limited to:
  • C++, C, JavaScript, Python
  • Device drivers, networking, serial communications, real-time operating systems (RTOS), bare metal
• Infrastructure and application development experience using technologies and architectures such as:
  • IP networking: TCP, UDP, TLS, DNS
  • Serial communications: RS232/485, CAN, USB
  • Protocols:
    Mod Bus, BACnet, SNMP, CANO
    
    pen, Redfish
  • Platforms: ARM, x86, SoC
• Familiarity with software development environments and tools:
  • Integrated platforms like Code Warrior, Visual Studio
  • Source code version control:
    Git
  • CMake
  • GNU Compiler and GDB
  • IAR/Keil Compilers
  • Debugging with ARM JTAG/SWD
• Additional, highly sought but not required.
  • Embedded systems experience with control applications.
