DescriptionThe School of Education seeks University Program Supervisors to serve teacher candidates across California. Supervisors complete in‑person observations and online evaluations of student teachers and resident teachers at school sites. The role guides candidates toward becoming competent educators.
Duties- Meet regularly with teaching candidates
- Conduct school site visits for observations
- Facilitate virtual and in‑person conferences with candidates and on‑site mentor teachers
- Serve as resource on curriculum, procedures, and classroom management
- Review and discuss written lesson plans
- Provide guidance on reflective practice, critical‑thinking, ethical decision‑making, and professional development
- Manage a course in the university Learning Management System
- Review fieldwork forms and submit grades
Required:
- Master’s degree or doctorate in an education‑related field
- Minimum three (3) years teaching in a public‑school setting
- Experience working with diverse adult and young adult learners
- Strong grasp of current academic content standards and evidence of effective teaching strategies
- Familiarity and comfort with the integration of educational technologies
- Valid driver’s license; provide current DMV printout with good driving record. Out‑of‑state licenses valid until appointment;
California Class “C” license required within ten (10) days of appointment

- Knowledge of effective teaching practices in online, hybrid, and face‑to‑face environments
- Demonstrated excellence in supervisory work with teacher candidates
