Salary Range: $59,488
Hiring Range: Near or at the minimum of the classification, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Definition of ClassificationThe Assistant Football Coach will assist the Head Coach in multiple aspects of the operations of the football program, serve as a recruiter, and assist with instruction as assigned. This position reports to the Head Coach and adheres to all university, NCAA, and SCIAC rules and policies. Travel for athletic contests and recruiting may be required, and flexibility for nights and weekends is necessary.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Oversee and coach an offensive position along with other football‑specific duties.
- Identify, evaluate, recruit, and retain qualified prospective student‑athletes.
- Maintain effective communication with prospective student‑athletes and the Admissions Office.
- Arrange and conduct on‑ and off‑campus visits with prospective student‑athletes.
- Assist with coaching, training, and skill development of student‑athletes as assigned.
- Serve as the assistant recruiting coordinator, assisting the recruiting coordinator in all recruiting aspects.
- Function as an active team member of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
- Accept collateral assignments within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three years of football coaching experience; at least one year of intercollegiate football coaching experience preferred.
- Experience in graphic design software, MS Visio, and Pro Quick Draw preferred.
- Valid California Class C driver’s license with a good driving record required.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Knowledge of applicable team or individual sports and playing rules.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NCAA Division III philosophy.
- Ability to attract outstanding students to the University.
- Understanding of the role of physical education, recreational sports, and athletics in a private liberal arts academic setting.
- Strong interpersonal, motivational, and team leadership skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organizational and detail‑oriented skills.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
- Adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Proficiency with personal computer software and applications.
- Willingness to learn new and evolving technology.
- Ability to recommend appropriate courses of action within established guidelines.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Ability to foster strong, positive relationships and align resources to achieve university objectives.
- Competence interacting with a culturally and ethnically diverse population.
Work involves moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises. Travel for contests and recruiting may be required. Regular standing, walking, and sitting; use of hands to operate technology; lifting objects typically up to 25 pounds. Some exposure to hazards requires basic safety precautions.
