Job SummaryThe Sales Application Engineer (SAE) formulates and produces sales quotations for custom equipment orders, develops product designs, and coordinates with customers, sales reps, sales managers, and all applicable company departments to ensure project completion.
Responsibilities- Assist sales reps in assessing potential to meet customer needs.
- Gather engineering data specific to each project.
- Provide technical support and information to the company’s reps and customers.
- Prepare accurate pricing for customer projects.
- Serve as the single source customer contact for project issues and activities.
- Review engineering drawings, analyze design, and complete the drawing, layout, or design.
- Ensure accuracy of project buy‑out component lists.
- Release projects for manufacturing and monitor equipment in production.
- Manage contractual modifications during the project to ensure profitability.
- Process change order requests without impacting production or scheduled ship dates.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in sales.
- Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office.
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
- Demonstrated knowledge of blueprint and technical document review.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn in‑house and third‑party engineering design and selection software programs.
- Responsible, self‑directed, and organized.
- Focused on customer service and project management.
- Shows thoroughness in handling information.
- Communicates effectively and works well in a team.
