Position OverviewThe Radiation Therapist accurately delivers the prescribed course of radiation therapy with minimal supervision. The therapist assists the physician and fellow caregivers in maintaining optimum care and treatment of the radiation therapy patient and works with staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
Essential Functions and Duties- Accurately deliver the prescribed course of radiation therapy with minimal supervision.
- Understand fully the function of the treatment machines/simulators and accessory equipment to utilize equipment to optimal capabilities.
- Occasionally perform routine tumor localizations, simulations, and treatment planning procedures.
- Prepare and maintain treatment records for accurate daily documentation.
- Observe clinical progress, detect unusual reactions, and recognize symptoms of developing complications.
- Ensure safe and proper operation and maintenance of the treatment apparatus, techniques, and procedures in accordance with department policies.
- Actively participate in treatment evaluation sessions.
- Submit accurate therapy charges.
- Support the vision, mission, and values of the organization.
- Apply Value Improvement Practice (VIP‑Lean) principles and act as a champion of change.
- Maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
- Conduct all activities with the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Deliver patient care that promotes goodwill, timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required.

Completed a 24‑month course in Radiologic Technology, registered by the ARRT, and a 12‑month course in Radiation Therapy Technology; or a high school graduate who completed a 24‑month course in an approved school of Radiation Therapy. - Preferred

- Standing, walking, keyboard operation, clear and audible speaking voice – 75% or more of the time.

- Bending, stooping, crouching, reaching overhead, lifting 25–50 pounds – 25% of the time.
- Climbing stairs – rarely (10%); climbing ladder/step‑stool – rarely (10%).
