Job SummaryWe are hiring a Decontamination Technician. A Decontamination Technician sorts, photographs, decontaminates and dries invasive medical devices. All work must comply with Medline Renewal’s SOPs and FDA guidelines to ensure patient safety.
Essential Functions of the Job- Receive containers of devices from receiving team and confirm all necessary paperwork is present.
- Sort each bin of incoming contaminated devices by device type in a safe manner.
- Document devices received and forward to the appropriate decontamination area or reject if the device is not eligible for reprocessing.
- Take appropriate steps to decontaminate devices (use chemical soaks, load devices into baskets and place in an ultrasonic bath, steam clean/scrub, scrub with implements to remove debris).
- Dry cleaned devices using compressed air.
- Confirm devices are kept separate according to documentation and/or organizational system.
- Verify that devices being sent to next production area match documentation and paper records and sign off on documents.
- Assist other departments as needed to ensure production output meets or exceeds goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to communicate in basic English (speak and read).
- Sit or stand for 10‑hour shifts with appropriate meal and rest breaks.
- Work in a room with washing machines, dryers, racks, tables, and limited space for movement.
- Work in a room with continuous moderate to high noise levels.
- Lift, push, or pull batches of devices averaging 50 lbs up to 50 times per day.
- Perform repetitive tasks, some small motion tasks throughout the shift.
- Be focused and detail oriented to identify product discrepancies or flaws and take appropriate action.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior work experience in a manufacturing role.
- $1,000 sign‑on bonus if hired.
- Full‑time, 40‑hour weekly schedules with consistent work hours.
- Climate‑controlled environment.

$17.00 – $23.75 per hour (actual salary varies by location, education, experience, skills, and abilities). Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
