Welders in our Redmond, OR location will work on a variety of projects. Using engineering drawings, you will build parts and equipment to specification. This includes lay out, tack up, welding (GMAW and GTAW processes) and straightening as required to meet dimensional and quality specifications on material thickness of 20ga to 3/4" thick material. Welders will utilize additional tools such as clamps, pneumatic and electrical grinders, oxy-acetylene torches, etc.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • At all times safety is a top priority while performing any part of your job.
  • Read drawings and use fixtures, templates, stops, and guides as indicated to build equipment as required by blueprint.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions given by Production Supervisor
  • Measure component dimensions to determine accuracy of welding operation
  • Operate basic equipment with little supervision, i.e. pneumatic and electrical grinders, acetylene torches, and plasma torches, etc.
  • Lay out, tack up and weld simple equipment and components.
  • Assist other welders working on more complex equipment and components.
  • Demonstrate improving consistency in weld quality.
  • Demonstrate improving efficiency in meeting productivity expectations, as defined by actual labor hours compared against labor standards.
  • Identify and repair weld defects in accordance to quality standards
  • Make welds acceptable to welds acceptable to standards for welding on arm brackets
  • Recognize and apply weld symbols
  • Demonstrated ability to meet productivity expectations, as defined by actual hours compared against labor standards
  • Demonstrated skills in using the stud gun process

This is not an entry-level position, but there is room for growth and advancement  should have a high school or equivalent diploma, and formal weld classes and/or certification from a college, trade school or military service. Welders will be required to successfully pass a weld demonstration test.

Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals. Ability to write short routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to accurately measure dimensions from an engineering drawing.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, blue print or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
