• Assist in the management and direction of daily operations of Abby’s Restaurant, ensuring quality food, sanitation, and customer service.
• Supervise all restaurant personnel and perform administrative functions in the absence of the Manager.
• Monitor staffing levels relative to sales volume to ensure prompt, efficient, and courteous customer contact through employees in all service areas.
• Circulate throughout the restaurant to contact customers, monitor product and service quality during peak meal periods, and assist in the production of quality food and beverage as assigned by the Manager.
• Identify and enhance a continually increasing loyal customer base, report competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and address other marketing matters.
• Emphasize effective merchandising of profitable food and beverage items and the suggestive sales of incremental items.
• Implement new menus, menu ideas, and promotional programs successfully.
• Monitor controllable costs—including foods, beverages, labor, supplies, repairs, and maintenance—and supervise employee compliance with procedures designed to maintain these areas at the most profitable levels.
• Train hourly staff, recommend promotions, discipline, and terminations, and interview and select hourly employees as needed.
• Coordinate and guide the training of Assistant Managers and stimulate positive employee morale to minimize staff turnover through communication, motivation, and counseling techniques.
• Guide and direct subordinate activities to maximize productivity and ensure efficient customer flow.
