Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Be visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers.Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.Adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly to control loss.Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
