Overlake Kinder Care is an early childhood education provider recognized with the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award. The Assistant Director role supports daily operations, staff, families and community partners while advancing the center’s educational mission.
Responsibilities- Assist the Center Director in leading teaching staff, supporting families, and achieving enrollment, accreditation, and operational objectives.
- Partner with parents to provide high‑quality care and education and cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, licensing authorities and community contacts.
- Serve in multiple roles as needed—including teaching, cooking and driving—to meet the center’s staffing needs.
- Provide instructional support and promote the value of early childhood education to parents and staff.
- At least two years of early childhood education experience with understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, verbal, listening and communication skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Meet state‑specific licensing guidelines.
- Physical ability to use a computer, lift at least 40 lbs, work indoors or outdoors, assume low‑posture positions, and maintain visual contact with children.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding and speaking English.
Range of pay: $23.55 – $27.45 hourly. In Minnesota, an additional $3.00 per hour premium applies.
