Job OpportunityLead Geologist – Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team
Location:
Portland, OR and Redmond, WA (flexible work arrangements available)
** Required Experience**: 7+ years post‑education environmental consulting with a focus on geology or hydrogeology.
Responsibilities- Document and solve technical problems, produce technical reports, plans, and calculations in a consulting environment.
- Lead multidisciplinary investigations involving soil, vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, sediment, stormwater, and remediation systems.
- Apply chemical fate and transport assessments and hazardous waste management principles.
- Provide guidance on green and sustainable remediation techniques to minimize client carbon footprints.
- Support litigation projects including cost evaluation and preparation of expert testimony.
- Serve as a team member or leader on environmental consulting projects for commercial and government clients.
- Perform complex technical tasks under the oversight of experienced reviewers or directors as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, Oregon, and Washington regulations.
- Maintain ethical decision‑making, uphold WSP’s Code of Conduct, and perform additional responsibilities as required.
- B.S. or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline.
- 7+ years post‑education environmental consulting experience.
- Professional registration in Oregon or Washington (preferably both) for Geologist/Hydrogeologist.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Consistent, highly accurate project work and strong organization.
- Comfortable working in industrial, field, and office environments.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Committed to workplace safety and adherence to WSP policies.
- Flexible travel and work schedule as required.
- Master’s Degree (preferred).
- 40‑Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (preferred).
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training (desired).

Expected Salary (all locations): $108,600 – $142,000.
