Finance Manager, Project Kuiper – Amazon
Join Amazon’s long‑term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. It is Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion‑dollar business, and we need an entrepreneurial Finance Manager who thrives in a start‑up environment, is passionate about technology, thinks and acts globally, and can create and implement solutions, processes, and controls.
Key Job Responsibilities- Serve as the finance subject matter expert for Kuiper’s cloud‑computing consumption.
- Develop strong working relationships with AWS Infrastructure and Services teams and Kuiper business partners.
- Identify, quantify, and forecast AWS usage (IMR) and Kuiper‑specific AWS infrastructure costs (Capex) that support Kuiper globally.
- Build complex financial models that estimate Kuiper cloud‑computing costs and requirements to support negotiations with AWS and B2B prospective customers. Partner with key stakeholders to identify cost‑reduction ideas.
- Develop and implement metrics to monitor, report, and evaluate forecasts versus actual usage (AWS, external) and Capex investments, including recommendation to business leadership to drive efficiencies and spending improvements.
- Develop and deliver accurate operating plans and guidance on R&Os, bringing creative ideas to reduce costs.
- Manage competing priorities in an ambiguous business unit, providing operations and investment guidance to partners based on data analysis.
- Communicate data clearly and concisely to varied audiences, adapting style for written and verbal presentations.
- 5+ years of tax, finance, or related analytical field experience.
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analysis.
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/datasets that inform business decision‑making.
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of finance or related analytical experience.
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving.
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root cause, and implementing escalation plans.
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges with accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that impact the business.
- MBA or CPA certification.
- Experience with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis and interpreting results.

Compensation reflects the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest market up to $179,500/year in our highest market. Pay is based on geographic location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other benefits.
