Commercial Products and Infrastructure (CPI) Finance is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s cloud-first strategy.

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help shape the future of our cloud products. The team’s charter is to build-out Microsoft’s end-to-end cloud infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team, you will support long-term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition, while enhancing transparency into cloud infrastructure investments, and safeguarding shareholder value.

CPI Infra and Margins finance team is responsible for margin strategy and investment optimization for cloud products including Modern Work. • Oversee financial health of Office Product Group (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Loops, etc.) through forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and long‑range planning to achieve steady‑state gross margin. Continuously enhance financial models to reflect business evolution.
• Partner with engineering to drive product profitability, offering insights and recommendations to meet cost of goods sold (COGS) and margin goals. Lead cost optimization and scenario planning and define action plans with stakeholders.
• Deliver actionable insights to business leaders via recurring reports, trend analysis, and variance resolution. Ensure accountability and execution of financial strategies.
• Synthesize diverse data into clear narratives and communicate results effectively, demonstrating business acumen.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations by reviewing financial processes and documents. Advise on policy adherence and coordinate with Compliance teams.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or related field.
• OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis.

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 3+ years of post‑graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post‑graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience.
• OR equivalent experience.
• Proficient analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities and strategic thinking.
• Self‑starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments with evolving technology and business model trends.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way. Executive level oral and written communication skills.
