Overview
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Professional reviews, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and is responsible for designing policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations on safety, health, and the environment. They also design programs to prevent disease or injury to workers and damage to the environment. The incumbent analyzes regulatory required compliance and technical issues, and communicates those analyses with clients, peers, and with regulatory agencies when needed.
Responsibilities- Follows notification protocol internal to EC and EHS for each specific site.
- Aids in initial care and follow up care with injured employees and case management.
- Investigates incidents.
- Ensures incident report has been completed by and distributed to the appropriate parties within established timelines.
Focuses on work that takes employees out of the neutral zone, creating body positioning issues, which may increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders.
- Bachelors (BA/BS) degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related subject from an accredited school; or
- Associates (AA/AS) degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related subject from an accredited school; and at least two or more years related experience and/or training in professional safety in the field; or
- Successful completion of an accredited EHS Apprentice program.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position will be considered.
- Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oregon driver license.
- OSHA 30 in construction required or equivalent certification.
- Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification preferred.
- Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM)
- Frequent travel for project visits is required, typically 40% to 60%, with some overnight travel as needed.
Salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 annually.
Opportunity for a discretionary year-end bonus.
