Material Handler (Full-time)

Join Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington as a full‑time Material Handler. Evergreen Goodwill is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1923 that offers free job training, education, and placement services across Northwest Washington, supporting individuals to overcome barriers to employment.

In this role you will unload donations from containers, sort and move goods to appropriate production areas, maintain donor tallies, and support a safe, efficient work environment.

• Unload and sort salvage material and donations, removing garbage from sellable goods.
• Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing.
• Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor.
• Use cardboard compactors and identify problems.
• Maintain donor tallies and a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices; report potential hazards or accidents.
• Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Consistently and safely perform forklift duties when certified to Seattle Goodwill standards (optional).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
• No experience required.
• Lift and carry up to 30‑40 pounds; stand, bend, kneel, reach, and manipulate objects for extended periods.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for Seattle Goodwill forklift certification if applicable.

• Lifting and carrying 30‑40 pounds; fine motor control; ability to work in an outdoor warehouse setting with dust exposure.
• Basic math skills: organizing, sorting, counting, adding, subtracting.
• Problem solving and ability to communicate with the public.
