The Development Coordinator plays a vital role within our team, ensuring the on‑time completion of tests and large projects. This position involves monitoring, tracking, and coordinating parts, workflows, and schedules in a high‑stakes aerospace manufacturing environment. The role requires collaboration across planning, procurement, engineering, production, and test teams to maintain data integrity, optimize logistics, and drive efficiency while adhering to Space
X specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic setting.
- Receive, store and issue raw materials, parts, details, and hardware to support lab operations
- Organize parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying parts and stored location
- Monitor part supply levels, including shelf‑life storage, tooling and consumable inventory
- Maintain documentation of standard equipment and tooling.
- Monitor, track, and coordinate movement of parts to ensure project readiness
- Oversee RFI (inventory request) material for upcoming jobs, lineside material cycle counts, and external storage organization
- Run clear to build reports to optimize testing schedules
- Implement and maintain 5S standards for tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Organize and maintain calibrated devices, including recalling devices in active use for calibration.
- Develop and implement cost reductions processes and efficiency improvement measures
- Remove defective equipment from work centers and communicate quality issues to engineering team for resolution
- Develop and maintain reports to highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints as required for internal and customer use
- Analyze available data and work with supervisors and managers to develop and verify metrics as required to drive optimal results
- Work with planning, procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure our scheduling and inventory data is and remains clean and accurate
- Perform housekeeping chores in area
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing experience
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
- Experience operating a forklift and related equipment
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace, electronics, automotive, or other high‑volume manufacturing
- 2+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
- SQL and/or Tableau experience
- APICS Certification
- Track record of process and design improvement suggestions being successfully implemented
- Ability to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment
- Effective communication skills (verbally and written) with engineering, technicians, and leadership.
- Excellent collaboration skills and fosters strong team environment.
- Available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility required
- Able to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Able to be mobile and on foot for extended periods
- The ability to lift heavy objects is required in this position (up to 25 lbs. unassisted)
- Able to work at elevated heights
- Valid driver’s license
