The Pump Mechanic will repair and fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, disassembling, inspecting, and repairing an array of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (both single and multi‑stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps, metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (both vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipment.
Responsibilities- Read blueprints and drawings
- Use micrometers and dial indicators
- Use all types of mechanics’ hand tools
- Utilize presses, torches and pullers
- Align pumps and motors
- Rebuild mechanical seals
- Have a working knowledge of fits and clearances
- Be adept at reading micrometers and other measuring instruments
- Have good math skills
- Able to clearly and concisely perform inspection reports
- Have a high school degree
- Physical Demand:
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. - Training/
Certifications:
Ability to perform laser alignments and to take vibration readings preferred - Shift Time/Overtime:
First Shift with overtime as required - Travel: N/A
