Quality Inspector 2nd Shift (Back Half Night (WED‑SAT)), Amazon Leo

Location:

Redmond, WA, Washington State. Shift: Wed‑Sat 6 am‑4:30 pm. Full‑time.

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world, closing the digital divide. The Quality Team at Amazon Leo seeks a Quality Inspector to perform critical inspection duties within our Manufacturing Quality organization.

• Operate advanced metrology equipment to ensure product conformance for highly complex aerospace‑grade hardware.
• Perform receiving inspection activity using sampling plans and metrology equipment such as CMMs, Romer Arms, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
• Report nonconformances when defective material is found.
• Develop and lead 5S activities around the Quality area(s).
• Read inspection plans and work instructions to perform quality inspections.
• Interpret engineering blueprints and drawings to ASME Y14.5 standard for GD&T.
• Perform critical in‑process and final inspections for assembled product, including FAIs to AS9102.
• Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to requirements of AS9102.
• Develop Standard Operator Procedures (SOPs) for other inspectors to follow.
• Train new inspectors on correct usage of equipment and daily responsibilities.
• Investigate hardware for defects and create nonconformance reports.

Execute inspection plans for a wide variety of received hardware, perform and complete FAIs, inspect and buy off rework/repair activities, investigate defects, perform in‑process and final inspections, develop SOPs, and train new inspectors.

• Familiar with FAI forms to AS9102.
• Certified inspector to IPC‑610.
• Certified inspector to IPC‑620.
• Familiar with Metro logic and/or PCDMIS inspection software.
• Familiar with automated inspection equipment such as Romer arms, comparators, CMMs.
• Comfortable reading sampling tables to ANSI/ASQ ZI.4 for established AQL levels.
• Has led inspection teams and runs daily 5S activities.

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $38.50/hour. Employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. A full range of medical, financial, and other benefits are provided as per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act.
