Our client, a leading organization in innovative research and development, is seeking a Research Scientist - Applied Perception to join their dynamic team. As a Research Scientist - Applied Perception, you will be part of the Reality Labs Research department supporting cutting‑edge advancements in virtual and augmented reality technologies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Research Scientist - Applied Perception
Location: Redmond, WA
Contract Length: 12-24 months
Pay Range: $70-$75/hour
- Oversee and drive research projects focused on speech quality and auditory perception, analyzing results statistically and reporting findings.
- Monitor project progress, identify issues, facilitate resolution, and proactively keep projects on schedule.
- Implement and conduct pilot listening tests and other perceptual experiments to gather user insights.
- Regularly communicate project updates, dependencies, and potential risks to stakeholders.
- Support research scientists and engineers within the team to achieve shared goals.
- Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or similar language - working on internationalization change in the role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with data collection involving human participants and analysis.
- Proficiency with scientific programming languages such as Matlab, Python, C++, or R.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in fields like Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Electrical Engineering, Perception, Experimental Psychology, Audio Engineering, Acoustics, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
