This position demands precision and a keen attention to detail, coupled with a robust understanding of different roofing materials and installation techniques.

Duties

and Responsibilities

Inspecting roof structures to determine the best installation procedures.

Measuring roofing areas to calculate the materials and components required.

Cutting roofing materials to size, fitting them around obstacles such as chimneys and vent stacks.

Installing different types of roofing materials such as asphalt shingles, metal sheets, and tiles.

Applying adhesives, caulking, sealants, or other agents to installed surfaces.

Installing insulation and vapor barriers.

Ensuring alignment of shingles, tiles, or other roofing materials.

Attaching roofing materials with screws, nails, or other fasteners.

Maintaining tools and equipment used in roof installation and repairs.

Adhering to safety guidelines and regulations at all times on the job site.

Communicating with clients and team members regarding project status and timelines.

Repairing damaged roofs, including filling in holes, replacing missing shingles, and sealing areas to make them watertight.

Conducting final inspections post-installation to ensure the quality and integrity of the roof.

Providing detailed reports on job status, materials used, and time spent.

Continually learning about new products, installation techniques, and safety procedures.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Roofing Installer or a similar role in the construction or building industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of different materials used for roofing and a clear understanding of installation processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Construction or Building Technology is an advantage.
Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights with safety gear.
Precision and attention to detail, ensuring all installations meet quality standards.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and communication with clients.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various work sites.
Availability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required by the project timelines.
Commitment to ongoing education and training in industry standards and safety regulation changes.
