Full Stack Software Engineer, Constellation Tools (Starlink)

Space
X is developing Starlink, a global broadband satellite constellations network. The Constellation Tools team builds safe, secure, and efficient operations for all Starlink vehicles and ground assets, overseeing pipelines that process gigabytes of telemetry every second and ensuring high availability of tools that support satellite safety and network performance 24/7/365.
- Develop reliable and available web applications and data pipelines that command, control, and monitor fleets of assets.
- Deliver well‑tested, performant, and maintainable backend code in Python, C#/.NET, and Java.
- Focus on continuous monitoring and alerting to foster data‑driven decisions and improve system observability.
- Assist in operating satellites, gateways, and other assets to improve time‑to‑insight and issue resolution.
- Automate manual operations to enhance operator user experience and network safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM discipline and 1+ years of experience building full‑stack software; OR 3+ years of professional experience building full‑stack software in lieu of a degree (internship experience is applicable).
- Programming experience in Python, C#, .NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object‑oriented language.
- Experience with Postgre
SQL, Cockroach
DB, or a similar relational database. - Experience with in‑stream data processing technologies such as Kafka, Rabbit
MQ, Flink, or Spark Streaming. - Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery systems.
- Experience with Unix‑like operating systems.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Pay Range:
- Software Engineer/Level I: $122,500 – $145,000 per year
- Software Engineer/Level II: $140,000 – $170,000 per year
- Base salary determined individually; may include long‑term incentives (stock, options, or cash awards), discretionary bonuses, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
- Health, vision, and dental coverage; 401(k) retirement plan; short‑ and long‑term disability insurance; life insurance; paid parental leave; 3 weeks paid vacation; 10+ paid holidays per year; paid sick time in compliance with Washington State law.
- Company shuttles offered for round‑trip travel from select Seattle locations to the Space
X Redmond office Monday‑Friday.
