Are you an experienced Firmware Engineer with a desire to excel? If so, then Talent Software Services may have the job for you! Our client is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to work at their company in Redmond, WA.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Purpose of the Team:
  This is an embedded firmware development software position, with a focus on reproducing, debugging, and fixing code errors. The role will also consist of integrating and modifying code from other parties.
• The candidate will be part of a team developing embedded software/firmware for hardware products.
• The candidate will be focusing on firmware development for Surface devices.
• The role involves working on low-level software for these devices
• Understand feature requirements and expected system behavior.
• Develop/Test/Debug embedded firmware in C and Python.
• Modify existing firmware to new standards and conduct unit testing of the developed firmware.
• Work independently to reproduce observations from engineers.
• Collect debug information from devices.
• Interact with hardware (device flashing, log collection).
• Analyze test scenario results to assist with debugging.

Qualifications:

• Years of Experience
  
  Required:
  
  2-4 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required:
  Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field experience
• Strong communication skills, especially for working with people in different geographies.
• Flexibility to work early mornings or late evenings to accommodate meetings with teams in India and China.
• Ability to discuss and negotiate meeting times based on project needs.
• Rust experience is a plus.
• Experience with VS Code is considered a nice-to-have
• Experience working in embedded contexts is a plus (device flashing, JTAG debugging, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and at the direction of others.
• Strong problem diagnosis, investigation, and issue resolution skills.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Have industry experience
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with C programming.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with Python Scripting.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with GIT
