Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

** Responsibilities*
* + Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex software components and features, balancing performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

+ Build and improve CI/CD, testing, and automation to enable reliable, high-quality, and efficient releases.

+ Drive technical solutions and feature enhancements while meeting security, privacy, compliance, and quality standards.

+ Explore and apply AI-powered capabilities and developer tools to improve product experiences, engineering productivity, automation, and operational efficiency.

+ Collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to evaluate design options, make technical decisions, and manage tradeoffs.

+ Use telemetry, experimentation, and operational metrics to validate system health, performance, and customer impact.

+ Contribute to design and code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and ensure end-to-end production readiness.

* Required Qualifications:

* + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

+ OR equivalent experience.

** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* + Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

+ OR equivalent experience.

+ 5+ years experience in a collaborative environment.

+ 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building, shipping, and maintaining production-grade software systems.

Experience with AI-powered tooling or applications, including integrating AI capabilities into software solutions or leveraging AI tools to improve engineering productivity

+ Experience designing and optimizing software for performance, reliability, and efficient resource utilization across diverse runtime environments and deployment scenarios.
