Patient Service Technician - CMV role Patient Service Technician is responsible for delivering and picking up equipment from homecare patients.
Responsibilities- Delivers and picks up equipment from homecare patients. Sets up equipment and instructs patients on the basic use of equipment. Assists patients in solving problems regarding equipment use.
- Schedules and organizes daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory. Loads and unloads durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen and medical supplies onto delivery vehicle.
- Complies with all applicable regulatory requirements including providing documents needed for the driver qualification file and abiding by hours of service, daily log, hazardous materials (placarding, training and shipping papers) and vehicle inspection and maintenance regulations.
- Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents and vehicle maintenance logs. Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
- Notify supervisor if any items are discovered in the patient's home indicating safety concerns (e.g., physical abuse, unsafe home environment, or unsanitary conditions caused by animals).
- Maintains daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports. Ensures vehicles are in proper working condition and that preventive maintenance is performed on schedule per DOT, FDA and Joint Commission.
- Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed and on an on-call basis.
- May clean and assist with the repair of equipment.
- Performs routine vehicle maintenance including checking gasoline, oil, fluids, tire pressure and brakes and reports malfunctions to the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
- At least one-year related work experience is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
- Minimum of three years driving history required.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
- Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
- Must meet job-related requirements to comply with DOT, FDA and Joint Commission regulations.

Physical demands and work environment characteristics required to perform the essential functions of this job. The employee uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch; talks or hears; may travel by plane or automobile as applicable. Specific vision requirements include close and distance vision.
- Regularly required to use hands to write, use computer, operate a motor vehicle, use a handheld device, telephone and a document imaging system and to manipulate documents.
- Regularly required to read documents and write clearly, legibly and transcribe accurate information and numbers/values.
- Employee continually engages in activities that require talking and hearing.
- This position requires frequent variations including sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching or stooping.
- The employee must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, specific to the vehicle operated in the conduct of this job.
- Specific vision abilities required to perform this job safely include close vision, distant vision, night vision and the ability to adjust focus to work on a computer and read documents.
- Strength Aspects: frequently required to stand and lift objects from 10 lbs to 160 lbs and carry objects for distances up to 350 ft, including travel up and down stairs or in elevators (weights may vary).
- Body Position and Flexibility Elements: climbing stairs, stepping in and out of vehicles, climbing ladders, reaching, bending and kneeling as required.
