Overview

Senior Cost Accountant – Sr. Cost Accountant – Senior Audit Associate – Sr. Audit Associate – Senior Auditor – Sr. Auditor – Senior Assurance Associate – Sr. Assurance Associate – Inventory Reconciliations. A startup in the South Bay is adding a Senior Cost Accountant to their team due to company growth. In this role, you will support cost accounting, month-end close, and inventory including valuations and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Cost Accountant or Auditor in public accounting with manufacturing, CPG, and/or heavy inventory-based clients.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience OR
• 3+ years of public accounting experience with inventory clients
• Advanced Excel

• Complete monthly reconciliations related to inventory levels and work-in-process accounts
• Review expenses tied to inventory and assess production overhead charges regularly
• Track costs of components and input cost updates following management sign-off
• Prepare journal entries for inclusion in the monthly financial reporting cycle
• Support analysis of profit & loss statements and balance sheet variances on a recurring basis
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Engineering to address operational queries and drive process improvements
• Assist with financial reporting
• Track and manage work order-related costs
• Assist with rate-setting methodologies and creating bill of materials
• Knowledge of how Bills of Material (BOM) function in production environments
