DescriptionAs a Propulsion Supervisor at Impulse, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for liquid rocket engines, thrusters, and propulsion subsystems. This position is highly hands-on, balancing team leadership with technical depth.
Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and mentor propulsion technicians, and operators
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure projects align with company milestones
- Supervise design, analysis, assembly, and testing of engines, thrusters, and fluid systems
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Coordinate propulsion test campaigns (component- and system-level hot-fires)
- Ensure proper procedures, instrumentation, and safety protocols are in place
- Support troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and root-cause investigations
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 8+ years of experience in rocket propulsion systems (liquid engines, thrusters, or fluid systems)
- 6+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- 6+ years of demonstrated knowledge of liquid propulsion fundamentals: injectors, turbo machinery, ignition, cooling, valves, and fluid handling
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with cryogenic or hypergolic propellants
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume or production environment
- Familiarity with aerospace standards (NASA, DoD, FAA, ASME, ASTM)
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options
